The Denver Broncos have come to terms on the release of J.J. Arrington, whom they signed this off-season after his contract ran up with the Arizona Cardinals.
The decision to release him was because of a physical that he recently failed.
Arrington was signed to a four year, 10 million dollar contract. He ran for 187 yards and one touchdown with the Cardinals in 2008.
Denver has a crowed back-field anyways, J.J. was not needed on the team

The Denver Broncos opened mandatory minicamps on Friday, and with that came the assignment of uniform numbers to the newly acquired rookies. While some players will select new numbers upon making the depth chart, many will keep their numbers and make them part of their NFL identity.
In order of Draft, the numbers go:
Moreno, #27
Ayers, # 56
Smith, #33
McBath, #34
Quinn, #81
Bruton, #30
Olsen, #70
McKinley, #11
Brandstater, #3
Schlueter, #63

An interesting sidenote, Jay Cutler’s old number 6 is still vacant, one of the only numbers between 1-99 that are still available.

The Denver Post is reporting that the Broncos have brought in former Colorado Buffaloes football player Matt Russell as the team’s scouting director. Russell was an All-American linebacker for Colorado, and since has spent the last eight years as a scout for the Philadelphia Eagles and, you guessed it, the New England Patriots.
